Single 60s vs eharmony
A questionnaire that scores compatibility, or a fresh set of people each day and the freedom to look around. Which way of meeting suits you?
The answer in brief
eharmony suits people who want a structured start: every member takes its Compatibility Quiz and sees a compatibility score with each match. Single 60s suits people over 60 who would rather look through daily suggestions and browse for themselves, with a few free messages every day. Both are free to join, and full messaging is a paid extra on each.
eharmony has been around since 2000 and is open to adults of every age, with its own guidance for people dating over 60. Single 60s has been online since 2014 and is built for this stage of life from the ground up. Here is how the two compare on the things that matter when you are starting again.

Who is each one for?
eharmony calls itself a platform for all ages. Anyone 18 or over who is single or separated may join, and it publishes a guide to senior dating over 60. Its strength is that long track record and a clear method, which many people find reassuring when they have not dated for decades.
Single 60s takes the opposite approach to age. Rather than serving everyone and offering advice to older members, it is made for people over 60 and their concerns: dating after a long marriage, after losing a spouse, or simply looking for good company. Adults of any age may join, but you choose the age range you want to see.
Quiz matching or daily suggestions: how does each work?
Every new eharmony member answers the Compatibility Quiz. The answers produce a Personality Profile and a Compatibility Score with other members, and the Discover list shows people who fit your search preferences, with that compatibility on show. Profiles need to be at least half complete. If you like the idea of a site doing the sorting, this is the most structured option here.
Single 60s does not ask you to sit a test. You tell us what matters: the ages and gender you are interested in, how far you will travel, the kind of relationship you want, whether smoking or drinking matters to you, your interests and your religious beliefs. Each day you get suggestions built from that, which also take into account how active people are on the site. Then you are free to browse and search for yourself, which suits anyone who knows a spark when they see one.
What can you do without paying?
eharmony's free Basic membership gives you access to members and unlimited matches, with limited messaging. Premium, which comes in different lengths, adds unlimited messaging, the chance to see every member's photos, who has viewed you, the full Personality Profile, changes to your search settings and dedicated customer service.
A free Single 60s member can write a set number of messages a day, and anyone on a paid plan can be answered at no cost. That means a conversation can start before either of you spends anything. VIP removes the limit and adds chat rooms, private group chats and seeing everyone who likes you. VIP Plus adds exclusive matches and priority placement for your messages and likes. See the pricing page for plans; the twelve-month VIP plan is paid once and does not renew.
How safe is each site?
eharmony has a dedicated Trust and Safety team. Every registration is checked automatically for misuse, suspicious and reported profiles are reviewed by staff, and its help pages cover photo approval and SMS verification. Its terms say it does not currently run criminal background checks. It also offers a video date function, handy for meeting face to face before you meet in person.
Single 60s screens every photo and every piece of text with AI and human review, and our team validates profiles. ID verification is free, and video verification with a moderator needs no documents. You are shown by username and nearest town or city, never by real name. You can block instantly and report from any profile, and you are warned if someone pushes to move the chat to another app, a common early step in scams. Like eharmony, we do not run background checks. Our safety page explains each protection.
Apps and devices
eharmony has apps for iPhone and Android as well as its website. Single 60s works in the browser on whatever phone, tablet or computer you already use, and can be added to your home screen. There is nothing to download or update.
Which should you choose?
Go with eharmony if you want a questionnaire to do the first round of sorting, you like seeing a compatibility score, and you are happy on an all-ages site. Go with Single 60s if you are over 60, you would rather choose for yourself from daily suggestions, and you want to message a little for free. You can join both and see which one you return to. For the bigger picture, our comparisons page covers four sites, and Single 60s vs SilverSingles looks at another site for older singles.
